Deputy Minister of Defence Adly Zahari has officiated the launch of the School Digitalisation Programme in Camp (SDK) for Sekolah Kebangsaan Sultan Sir Ibrahim (SK Sultan Sir Ibrahim), Mersing, Johor, in June 2025.

Adly Zahari also opened the Affin Digital Space SK Sultan Sir Ibrahim, a green screen technology studio where students and educators can create content and media programmes.

Affin Digital Space SK Sultan Sir Ibrahim is an initiative of the Ministry of Defence in cultivating creative technology among the children of Defence Personnel (WKP).

It supports the Ministry of Education Malaysia’s (KPM) Digital Education Policy, which was launched in 2023 with the goal of producing digitally fluent students to prepare them for the digital era.

Furthermore, it enables educators and education leaders to integrate digital technology into the education ecosystem, strengthen digital education infrastructure and content, and maximise the active participation of strategic partners as a catalyst for digital education.

To begin, the Ministry of Defence plans to pilot three SDKs this year in collaboration with strategic partners, including the Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM) and Affin Bank Berhad. SK KEMENTAH and SK TUDM received the benefits on 13th March 2025 and 2nd May 2025, respectively.

During the ceremony, the SK Sultan Sir Ibrahim crew provided a briefing on the use of green screens, editing techniques with editing software, and lighting techniques in video production. Adly Zahari was invited to participate in the ‘Leaders Talk’ programme (Bicara Pemimpin) and was shown how to record a short video live.

During the same ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Defence witnessed Mohammad Fairuz Mohd Radi, Director of Community Banking for the Affin Bank Berhad Group, present a replica cheque to Zulnika bin Ramli, Headmaster of SK Sultan Sir Ibrahim.

The replica cheque presentation represents Affin Bank Bhd’s contribution to the school’s establishment of the Affin Digital Space SK Sultan Sir Ibrahim.

It demonstrates the Ministry of Defence’s efforts to support Focus 4: Strengthening the Wellbeing Ecosystem – Minister of Defence’s New Year Message 2025, as well as various national agendas such as the MADANI Nation Building Agenda and the National Fourth Industrial Revolution Policy (4IR), as well as challenges in teaching and learning implementation.

The Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel Services, Brigadier General Hamdan bin Ahmad TUDM, Commander of 7 Brigade, Brigadier General Zulhelmi bin Masdar, Johor State Education Director, Haji Mohd Hanafi bin Samad, ATM Education Director, Colonel Mohd Sharif bin Ishak and all of SK Sultan Sir Ibrahim’s staff were also in attendance at the program’s launch ceremony.
