In honour of Malaysia’s 68th Hari Kebangsaan, Maxim E-hailing Johor Bahru extended its community-focused initiative to engage with local residents through a meaningful and festive celebration.
Held at Apartment Jasa in Mutiara Rini, Skudai, the event marked Maxim’s fifth consecutive year of active participation in Independence Day celebrations across the country. The initiative reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to patriotism, social engagement, and giving back to the communities in which it operates.
“This initiative is part of our continuous efforts to give back to the community. Our partner-drivers are not just service providers; they are part of the social fabric of every city we operate in. Through programmes like this, we aim to foster civic awareness, strengthen community ties, and demonstrate our responsibility not just as a company, but as a contributor to the well-being of society. We believe that celebrating Independence Day should also be about contributing meaningfully to the place we all call home,” said Abdul Aliff, Head of Johor.
The Merdeka community event in Johor Bahru was designed as a combination of a National Day parade and charity drive, with the goal of fostering public connection and enhancing awareness of Maxim’s affordable and reliable e-hailing service. Beginning with a flag convoy parade at 9:30 AM, which arrived at Apartment Jasa around 10:30 AM. The convoy featured Maxim partner-drivers proudly showcasing the Jalur Gemilang on their vehicles.
Upon arrival, the charity and social programme commenced and continued until the afternoon. Maxim staff members were actively involved in organising and managing the event. Residents from 20 apartment blocks in the area were invited to take part in the activities, which included the distribution of hampers to selected families, a colouring contest for children, and lucky draws for visitors.
The distributed essential daily items in the form of hampers to eight selected families residing in Apartment Jasa. These hampers contained necessities such as rice, cooking oil, canned food, toiletries, and other household goods to support the families’ daily needs.
This gesture reflects Maxim’s commitment to identifying and assisting members of the community who may be facing economic challenges, especially during these difficult times. By focusing on practical, impactful aid, Maxim E-hailing aims to offer more than just services it aspires to be a dependable presence in the lives of the communities it serves.
The success of the event at Apartment Jasa not only strengthened public awareness of Maxim’s services but also underscored the company’s role as a socially responsible and community-driven organisation. As Malaysia celebrates 68 years of independence, Maxim E-hailing remains committed to building strong local ties, supporting its partner-drivers, and continuing its efforts to uplift communities across the nation.
