
The Star Karnival Cuti-Cuti Malaysia Johor, jointly organised by Tourism Malaysia and Star Media Group, took place from 7-9 November 2025 launched at Paradigm Mall Convention Centre, Johor Bahru, officially marked the organisers’ nationwide: “Explore. Experience. Excite.” campaign.
Several entertaining and family-friendly activities kicked-off at the carnival to promote domestic travel and highlight Malaysia’s rich cultural diversity.
Lee Thai Hung, Deputy Director-General (Promotions II), Tourism Malaysia, officiated the event.
“The Star Karnival Cuti-Cuti Malaysia is a celebration of our nation’s stories, creativity, and culture. Johor’s rich traditions, cuisine, and modern attractions make it an ideal destination to host this meaningful event. Through collaboration and community engagement, we can continue to grow tourism sustainably while fostering unity and pride among Malaysians,” Lee said, emphasising the importance of domestic tourism in driving Malaysia’s tourism growth and preparing for Visit Malaysia 2026.
The carnival offered a vibrant line-up of attractions, including cultural performances showcasing Malaysia’s multi-ethnic heritage, heritage food featuring local favourites from across the country, exclusive travel deals and promotions from domestic tour operators, and handicraft and artisanal booths by local entrepreneurs alongside the performances and social media engagements by popular talents and digital creators.

In the run-up to Visit Malaysia 2026 and Visit Johor 2026, the Johor edition continues the nationwide initiative to promote domestic tourism, cultural appreciation, and community engagement. It comes after successful stops in Pahang, the Klang Valley, Sarawak, and Penang.
