The Showcase One District One Industry (SDSI) Southern Region and the Johor Advanced Entrepreneurship Festival 2024 had targeted RM1 million for potential businesses during the 3 days held from the 21st to the 23rd of June 2024. Located at Angsana Johor Bahru Mall, Johor, this programme was organised by the Ministry of Development Entrepreneurs and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) in collaboration with the Johor State Government.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development (KUSKOP), Dato’ Sri Suriani binti Dato’ Ahmad said, this collaboration expected to have a great impact and benefit entrepreneurs and visitors, especially those who wanted to obtain the latest information on assistance or facilities provided by the government and related agencies.

“The programme was inaugurated by KUSKOP Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick, and gave visitors the opportunity to get to know SDSI’s potential and quality products through the exhibition held and also target a potential cash sales value of RM75,000.

“Uniquely for the Southern Region edition, we combined the SDSI Showcase and the Johor Advanced Entrepreneurship Festival 2024 to make it livelier and benefit the community and entrepreneurs, especially in Johor,” he said in a statement issued by KUSKOP.

In addition to the exhibition of SDSI products, KUSKOP also provided an exhibition of KUSKOP and state agencies for information sharing and entrepreneurial advisory services including the offering of financial facilities from Conventional/Islamic Financial Institutions, Development Financial Institutions, Entrepreneur Development Organisations, as well as alternative financing companies.

A talk and a briefing session involving Government agencies and funding agencies, on information to obtain halal certification and methods of marketing products online for free, in addition to a digital marketing programme via the TikTok platform was held on the main stage in collaboration with Tekun.

Datuk Ewon also added that the main objective of the Johor Advanced Entrepreneurship Festival 2024 which was implemented by the Johor Entrepreneurs Association (PUJB) was to provide business opportunities and exchange of opinions among entrepreneurs as well as brainstorming to improve the capacity and quality of products produced.

“This programme was a platform for entrepreneurs to bring Johor Halal products and services to a higher level and create opportunities for youth and new entrepreneurs to learn halal certification procedures and entrepreneurship knowledge,” he added.

He hoped that the completion of these planned activities would help the development of small and medium industries in Johor, especially for SDSI companies.

“Indirectly, by organising a programme like this, the community’s acceptance of locally produced products will increase, thus helping improve the economy and well-being of the local community.

“KUSKOP also hopes that the cooperative relationship with the Johor State Government that has been established will continue to grow and produce lasting benefits for the people, especially the entrepreneurial community in the Southern Region,” he said.
