The Ministry of Education (KPM) has taken note of the change of weekend days off in the state of Johor to Saturday and Sunday from 1st January 2025 as announced by His Royal Highness, Tunku Ismail, The Regent of Johor.
With regards to that, Johor state educational institutions will be placed together with Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, Putrajaya, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perlis, Penang, Perak, Sabah, Sarawak and Selangor in Group B which designates Saturday and Sunday as the weekend break.
This change will come into effect on 1st January 2025. It will involve changes to the 2024/2025 Session Academic Calendar and the 2025/2026 Session Academic Calendar.
