Participate in a golfing tournament and celebrate life over dinner with Befrienders

Befrienders Johor Bahru, the non-profit community service and Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that has been lending ears and shoulders for people who are in need of emotional support since its inception in August 2006 are holding a charity Golf Tournament in an effort to raise public awareness of the services they offer and also to raise funds for the organisation to keep it operating.

“From June 2018 to May 2019, Befrienders has received an amount of 4469 phone calls and 297 e-mails,” Bernard John, the Chairman of the Befriender’s Charity Golf Tournament committee said in the press conference. Phone calls have decreased compared to the year before and e-mail method has seen significant increase. Around 59 volunteers in Befrienders Johor Bahru have been serving in rotation from 1pm to 12am, 7 days a week answering calls at their number (07-3312300) or emails (sam@befriendersjb.org).

Befriender’s charity Golf Tournament leaflet – Dinner

The NGO is looking into opening another channel to reach even more people and it is expected to be launched in 2019. In order to operate smoothly, the organisation is in need of an annual fund of about RM40k which is usually raised during their charity drives.

Befrienders Charity Golf Tournament is happening on Friday, 27th of July, 2019 at Senai’s Le Grandeur Palm Resort with 2 categories of Men and Women. It starts from 1pm onwards and at 7pm, a charity dinner with lucky draw offering top 3 prizes consisting TV, high end jewelry and vacation vouchers which would be held at Le Grandeur’s Perkasa Hall.

The Golf Tournament’s entry fee is capped at RM300 per player and it includes goodies, dinner and lucky draw. Interested parties who just wish to join the charity dinner may purchase the dinner ticket at RM88 per person.
