The children are back to school after a restful mid-term break, and here’s an easy recipe to make which is suitable for their lunchboxes or even for the hardworking parents at work.
Ingredients:
- 1 can of Ayam Brand Sardines in Tomato Sauce 425g
- 200g 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil & 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Preparation:
- Firstly, boil the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Sauce: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until soft. Stir in marinara sauce and dried basil. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Open the can of Ayam Brand Sardines in Tomato Sauce, flake the sardines, and add them to the sauce. Mix well.
- Assemble the Bake: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Combine the cooked pasta with the sardine sauce. Transfer to a baking dish and top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake: Bake for 20 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
