Johor Land (JLand) the property development arm and a subsidiary of Johor Corporation (JCorp), has completed the development of 488 housing units for Rumah Impian Bangsa Johor (RIBJ) project in Bandar Dato’ Onn, Johor Bahru under the mandate of Sultan Ibrahim Johor Foundation (YSIJ) and the State Government.
Under the two RIBJ developments in Johor Bahru, with the other in Bandar Baru Majidee, JLand has completed 808 units of affordable housing across almost 59 acres, said to be strategically located within an enabling environment with adequate infrastructure, amenities and facilities to allow residents to build their lives and livelihood.
A symbolic ceremony of handing over keys to 15 purchasers took place on 27th April 2022, in the presence of His Royal Highness Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, the Crown Prince of Johor, officially representing His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, the Sultan and Sovereign Ruler of Johor.
Also present in the ceremony was Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi and State Secretary of Johor Dato’ Haji Azmi Rohani. Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim, President and Chief Executive of Johor Corporation, who is Chairman of JLand and also sits on the Board of Trustees of the Sultan Ibrahim Johor Foundation handed over the home keys to the homeowners.
“JCorp is committed to contributing towards housing development initiatives of YSIJ and the State Government by building quality, affordable homes and improving homeownership for the citizens of Johor, marked by the development of RIBJ project carried out by JLand,” said Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim.
Set amid the Bandar Dato’ Onn community’s key 51.92-acre mature estate grounds, RIBJ at Bandar Dato’ Onn consists of four types of landed residences with built-up spaces ranging from 1181 sq ft to 1262 sq ft and prices ranging from RM85,000 to RM100,000 per unit. RIBJ in Bandar Baru Majidee, on the other hand, was developed on 6.8 acres of land. The end of 2021 saw the completion of 320 three-bedroom flats, divided into two 12-story blocks of 160 units each.
The RIBJ initiative is an affordable housing scheme launched in 2017 by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, who envisions providing the citizens of Johor an opportunity to own a property they can call home. Under the administration of the YSIJ, the RIBJ serves to assist Johoreans, particularly those within the lower-income bracket, to own a strategically located home amidst comfortable facilities and amenities at affordable prices.
As part of providing good quality housing for a range of household needs, all housing units in RIBJ Bandar Dato’ Onn and Bandar Baru Majidee are furnished with appliances such as cooking hobs, air conditioning, television, refrigerator, washing machine and rice cooker.
