Rimba X Fest 2025 drew its curtains after two vibrant days of activity, community spirit, and an overwhelming turnout in the heart of Sireh Park’s natural beauty.
Since early Saturday morning on the 5th of July, thousands of visitors from across Johor and Singapore gathered to take part in the Rimba X Trail (5KM & 10KM) and enjoyed a variety of activities, from Zumba and arts workshops to Barongan performances, acoustic music, and cultural showcases.
The next day, saw 20 groups competing in a lively and family-friendly cook-off during the Rimba Cook Off x Zara Food, where creativity met camaraderie in an open-field kitchen. Other highlights included Qi Gong sessions, batik workshops, survival demos, and a full showcase of local creative talent at Pentas Seni Johor, all coming together to create a well-rounded and immersive festival experience.
Adding even more colour and flavour to the weekend was the Bazar Hutan, which ran across both days of the festival. The food bazaar served up a mix of traditional and trending eats, along with local products, crafts, fashion, and lifestyle offerings that reflected the diversity and vibrant spirit of Johor.
Festivalgoers also took home exciting prizes through the festival lucky draw, which included Garmin smartwatches, Brooks vouchers, a Canopy Villa glamping package, and Diet Camp sessions with Weight Crafters, making Rimba X Fest a celebration that rewarded both participation and presence.
The two-day festival closed with a formal ceremony officiated by the Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan Johor Corporation (Yayasan JCorp), Zaidatul Zurita Abdul Rahman, who commended Rimba X Fest as a vibrant initiative that not only brings communities together but also strengthens the local economy through arts, culture, and entrepreneurship within the community, especially in Johor.
“Yayasan JCorp strongly supports programmes like Rimba X Fest, particularly with the involvement of Pentas Seni Johor, which serves as a special platform for local talents to showcase their abilities. It is more than just a performance; it is an effort to ensure that Johor’s arts and cultural heritage continue to thrive and flourish,” she said.
“Yayasan JCorp aspires to further expand Pentas Seni Johor into a stronger, competitive platform that can enrich and energise the state’s creative ecosystem,” she added.
Program Manager of Coaction Events, Ahmed Norhafiz Mohd Dahalan, mentioned, “From the very beginning, our goal was to create an experience that brings together diverse segments of society—from adventure seekers and artists to local entrepreneurs, families, and children. Rimba X Fest is not just an entertainment festival. It was designed to mobilise the community. To get people outdoors, moving, connecting, and supporting local products and talents. At Coaction Events, we sincerely hope that Rimba X Fest will continue as an annual event and grow into a platform that celebrates and strengthens community spirit across the state,” he said.
To close the event off, a plethora of cultural performances took place, with sing-alongs of popular songs and dancing from Malay’s zapin, Chinese acrobats, and Indian’s Bharatanatyam, accompanied by a full ensemble of musicians and their instruments clad in Benang Johor’s traditional clothes, a rare sight in the midst of a jungle located at the heart of a bustling urban township.
Rimba X Fest 2025 was organised by Coaction Events Sdn Bhd, in partnership with Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP) and Yayasan Johor Corporation, with Sireh Park, as the official venue partner.
