Colouring the path to healthy living with hands that treat and hearts that heal
In conjunction with the recent World Health Day, Regency Specialist Hospital (RSH) collaborated with Seri Alam Properties in organising a 6km Balloon Run within Bandar Seri Alam, marking the start of their 10th year anniversary celebration, for which a series of events await following this run.
Aiming to advocate the public on health prevention and wellness through promoting healthy living, Regency officially flagged off their main highlight through a morning run with runners running with 450 balloons carrying their goals to a healthier lifestyle through the roads of Seri Alam.
Meanwhile, as runners completed their estimated 2 hours course, other visitors enjoyed the various health activities set up within the hospital compound such as mini explorace where they were required to collect stamps from related booths to claim a mystery gift, free health check-up, blood donation, fitness exercise, and a colouring contest for the children. Besides that, there were also multiple health exhibitions lining the lobby of Regency Hospital with performances and art therapies ran by students of Sekolah Seni Malaysia just beside the entrance of the lobby.
Also, a Regency Little Chef Competition, exclusive for Regency Kids Club Members, took place where kids competed to prepare the best Healthy Snack alongside their mothers that was directed by Fong Mok Yan, a respected dietitian from the Regency. This was followed by a cooking demonstration by Chef Jufri from Institute Hospitality and Tourism (FEMAC) where he prepared an easy go-to-chicken-and-fish dish that’s healthy and fun for all ages.
Lastly, after a closing ceremony officiated by a special speech from RSH’s CEO, Serena Yong, and a prize giving ceremony for the best runners and winners, the day finally came to an end as Serena left everyone with the wise words, “Health for all. Prevention is better than cure.” – as a method to encourage everyone to start living healthy. In her speech, she also introduced some of RSH’s efforts in helping the public start their road to healthier living such as their ROSE programme, Resting Electrodiogram vouchers for those in need and their more than 15 health screening packages.
