Regency Specialist Hospital (Regency) will provide paid option for COVID-19 vaccination from mid-August as part of their initiative to support the government in reaching inoculation rates amid surging cases.
COVID-19 cases are increasing exponentially in Malaysia, with new daily cases exceeding 10,000 since 13th July 2021.
The Chief Executive Officer of Regency, Serena Yong, shared that Regency is ready to do its part in support of the public and government’s call to expedite the vaccination process.
“We understand the concerns faced by the public and their wish to expedite their vaccination process. It is for this reason Regency is supporting the Johor state government as well as the federal government’s vaccination efforts, through the private vaccination option. Through this option, we aim to ensure the majority of our community get vaccinated in the shortest possible time to assist in achieving herd immunity. The faster we achieve 80% herd immunity, the better protection for our community”, Yong continued.
She also emphasised that vaccination is crucial to safeguard everyone from COVID-19 complications. She advised the public to register for the COVID-19 vaccination via the MySejahtera app, as the administration of the private vaccination will go through the same application to achieve both state and nationwide herd immunity.
Currently, the hospital will be administering the Sinovac vaccine for private vaccination. The public is encouraged to contact Regency’s Health Screening Centre for further enquiries and appointments at +6016 6098770 or +607-3817730.
Regency has collaborated with the Johor State Health Department since April to facilitate the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme under phase I. From 7th June 2021, Regency started phase II and has administered more than 9,000 doses up to early August 2021.
