Regency Specialist Hospital (RSH) has officially opened Regency Medical Care Centre (RMCC), in The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey.

As the first ambulatory care centre located in a shopping mall in Johor, RMCC is designed to be a one-stop healthcare hub, providing convenience and accessibility to quality medical services right in the heart of the city.

Ling Tian Soon, the Johor Health and Environment Committee Chairman, in his officiation speech commended RMCC for aligning with government initiatives aimed at boosting medical tourism and improving community health.

“RMCC exemplifies the success of public-private partnerships in advancing healthcare. It not only strengthens Johor’s position as a healthcare hub but also encourages proactive health management and disease prevention for the benefit of all.”

Serena Yong, Chief Executive Officer of Regency Specialist Hospital, outlined RMCC’s commitment to becoming a leading healthcare hub for patients from all walks of life, both domestically and internationally.

“What truly sets RMCC apart is our focus on early detection, preventive care, and overall health management,” she said.

“As we embrace technological advancements, we continually strive to enhance our offerings for the benefit of our patients. The new HMI One app, designed for local and international patients, exemplifies this commitment by simplifying scheduling appointments at RMCC,” she added.

By utilising the renowned healthcare expertise of Regency Specialist Hospital, RMCC, a convenient ambulatory care centre, enhances patient care through its focus on occupational health, health screenings, specialist services, and diagnostic imaging.

In line with rapid technological advancements, as seen in the government’s 2022 initiative to test medical robotics across five hospitals, RMCC is equipped with state-of-the-art technology — such as X-ray, ultrasound, Digital Mammogram (Tomosynthesis), CT scan, and Bone Densitometry Examination (DEXA), to ensure fast and accurate diagnoses, leading to improved health outcomes.

Addressing their patients from Singapore and Indonesia, Chin Wei Jia, Executive Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of HMI Medical, highlighted RMCC’s role in boosting Malaysia’s medical tourism industry.

“Medical tourism is a rapidly growing sector, and by combining world-class medical technology, skilled professionals, and a commitment to patient-centred care, RMCC has the potential to be a driving force in attracting international patients, particularly from Singapore, Indonesia, and other neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia,” she said.

Regency previously held a diabetes screening campaign, securing a spot in the Malaysian Book of Records with the biggest number of HbA1c screenings — over 3,148, in three days. The screenings took place in RMCC before it officially launched.

RM500 worth of complimentary services is being offered to the first 150 customers who sign up for any two of RMCC’s wellness packages in conjunction with its opening.
