Raya Food Aid 2023 to 500 Needy Families from Various Homes in Johor Bahru

Care United Johor Bahru (CUJB) conducted their Food Aid Distribution worth RM32,600.00 to 500 needy families from various villages and non-profit organisations in Johor Bahru. Annually, CUJB has provided Food Aid to this underprivileged community.

On the 13th of April 2023, CUJB contributed Food Aid hamper worth RM50.00 per recipient and contained every day essentials such as rice (5kg pack), cereal snack pack (6-in-1), Super Nutri milk (1pkt) and one Raya cake. The distribution took place at Sekolah Kebangsaan Felda Air Tawar 1, Kota Tinggi, for 20 Families.

Another 100 families 100 families from Kampung Dato Onn Jaafar / Larkin /Uda areas plus 110 families via Ihsan Johor and Families Charity Empire were also given food aid with essentials.

Meanwhile, 150 families from Kampung Skudai Kiri / PPR Melana Indah (Taman Perling)  were happy to take home a Food Aid hamper worth RM80.00 per recipient, which included rice (5kg pack), canned sardine (425gm), flour (1kg), sugar(1kg), rice noodles (400g), syrup (1 bottle), evaporated creamer, tea, coffee, chocolate powder, cornflakes and one Raya cake.

On the 16th April 2023, 20 students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Morni Pok, Gelang Patah, Johor received a Food Aid hamper worth RM50.00 per recipient, with items such as rice (5kg pack), flour (1kg), sugar(1kg), rice noodles (400g), tea, coffee, cornflakes and one Raya cake. Another 100 families were also recipients of Food Aid hamper containing similar items valued at RM50.00 each distributed at Balai Raya Permatang Utama Kempas.

“We are very proud and very happy with all our volunteers and everybody who helped in our endeavour,” said CUJB Founding President, Florence Goh.

Despite rising costs, it is hoped that this Food Aid will help families reduce their household expenses. This event has been made possible thanks to the continued support of donors. And it is hoped that corporate partners and media partners will continue to support the community work done by CUJB throughout the year.
