1,200 people enjoyed splashing in the newly opened water park at Johor Bahru City Council’s (MBJB) Hutan Bandar.
State Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor, on its official Facebook page said that an estimated 4,500 visitors came in and out of the Hutan Bandar area to have fun with their families and friends from 7am to 7pm.
“Of this number, approximately 1,200 visitors enjoyed the facilities of the water park, which was first opened to the public.”
“This encouraging attendance clearly shows that attractive public recreational facilities are highly appreciated by the people, especially as a space for children to play in the water, families to have fun and the community to live a healthy lifestyle.”

A total of 36 personnel has been assigned, involving enforcement teams, park rangers, lifeguards, security guards and cleaning workers to ensure the smooth operation and safety of visitors.
“The presence of this team is very important to ensure that the area is always safe, orderly and clean for the comfort of all,” he added, citing that the facilities will continue to be strengthened to increase people-friendly recreational spaces and improve the quality of life of the community in the cities of Johor.
A children’s pool, Flying Fox, rope course, playground, nature path, butterfly garden, and camping are just a few of the activities available to visitors, making it a fun and wholesome destination for families and the community.
The Flying Fox and rope course will be free for a month in connection with the reopening and Visit Johor Year 2026.
