A total of nine officers, two from MOSTI, four from KIMIA Malaysia, one from the Department of Atomic Energy, one from the Malaysian Academy of Sciences, and one from Malaysia Debt Ventures, have completed the Master of Professional Science programme in collaboration with UTM-MOSTI (Cohort-2) and were honoured at UTM’s 67th Convocation Ceremony on 19th November 2023, at UTM, Skudai, Johor Bahru.

These MOSTI officers are students in the study programme as a result of MOSTI and UTM’s collaboration through the study sponsorship initiative of the Federal Training Prize Partial Scholarship (HLPSB) by the Department of Public Services (JPA).

Three of the nine students, Uwarani Krishnan, have received the Pro-Chancellor Award, Best Postgraduate Student Award, and Best Master by Taught Course Degree Award, as well as Nuwaira Muhamadun Amin and Nurhayati Sulaiman, who both received the Best Postgraduate Student Award.

This master’s level study is a collaboration between the Razak Faculty of Technology and Informatics (FTIR), UTM, and MOSTI aimed at developing and strengthening professional talent in the field of science and technology. It began in 2019 with the admission of the first cohort of 11 students in February 2020 followed by the admission of the second cohort of students in October 2021.

By including employers and making sure that aspiring graduates have exposure to current trends and industry needs in addition to theoretical knowledge, this programme has been designed with a unique approach.

Dato’ Ts. Dr Aminuddin bin Hassim, Secretary General of the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), congratulated all MOSTI officers who were successfully awarded Masters of Professional Science at the 67th UTM Convocation Ceremony.
