A fresh new wholesale market is in town, and has opened its doors to the public just recently.
SKS Mart, located in Taman Industri Jaya, Skudai, spans across 10.26 acres and features notable tenants such as Hwa Thai Supermarket, Great Zone, Green Point and Ninso. On the exterior of the mart, rows of stalls selling fresh seafood catch, poultry, and vegetables can be found. The mart also houses products and services such as a salon, courier, bakery, pet shops, and many more. Currently at an occupancy rate of 80%, other businesses opening soon include Mr DIY, MOG Express, Best Light DIY, Aquasplash Swimming Academy, a money changer and a barbershop.

The mart was developed by Meriah Industries Sdn Bhd, a member of the SKS Group. It has 11 units of shop lots on one storey, another storey dedicated to the wholesale market, one food court, and 600 vehicle parking lots. A high-ceiling zone allows mezzanine floors to be installed, and its pillarless interior layout suits large scale retail shops, warehouses, wholesale stores and showrooms.
Haji Salehuddin bin Haji Hassan, the new mayor of Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri (MBIP), officiated the event. In his speech, he congratulated SKS Group for developing the twentieth mart in the MBIP municipality, encouraging developers to allow local Qbusinesses to thrive and enabling consumers to have more choices in their spending. In his term as the mayor, Hj Salehuddin aims to expand “Zero Plastic” environmental consciousness in MBIP and hopes SKS Mart will play a part in reducing plastic waste.
Dato’ Haji Rohman bin Hj Ahmad, Chief Operating Officer of SKS Group, at a press conference, was also happy that they have opened more affordable product choices for consumers in the vicinity of SKS Mart. He shared a new SKS Group commercial project, a five-storey shopping mall, launching in the first quarter of 2020 in Larkin and invites tenants to apply.
