According to Johor Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor, the MyAduan Johor integrated complaints system will be introduced by the end of this year.
The system, which is presently being tested at Johor Bahru City Council (MBJB), will enable the public to file complaints along with photos and geographical information, as well as monitor the status of their cases.
This is not the same as the Public Complaints Management mechanism (Sispaa), which is a one-way mechanism under the Prime Minister’s Department.
He was addressing reporters following the opening of the Career Carnival 2026 and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) at Dewan Raya Putra in Bandar Putra, Kulai.
MBJB has been testing the system for the past six months while undertaking a profile exercise prior to its nationwide expansion, said Mohd Jafni as quoted by The Star, adding the profile was required to determine which organisation was in charge of public infrastructure, such as whether a road belonged to the federal government, state government, local council, developer, or private owner.
Because some roads are owned by developers or private individuals, while others are under the jurisdiction of municipal councils or the Public Works Department (JKR), profiling is necessary.
This also applies to traffic lights.
Some are under the local councils, others are under JKR, and some have not yet been turned over by developers.
He clarified, “That’s why we started with MBJB first before expanding it statewide.”
Mohd Jafni stated that the Johor Disaster Management Committee will soon meet to discuss flood preparedness including all ten districts in anticipation of the year-end monsoon.
“We hope that the situation will be better this year with improvements carried out by local councils, especially in resolving flood hotspots,” he stated.
According to him, the two-day TVET and Career Carnival 2026 brought together state and federal agencies, business leaders, and academic institutions to introduce students and job seekers to career prospects, especially in technical and vocational disciplines.
The carnival included 16 participating companies with over 400 job openings, and throughout the event, an estimated 2,000 people attended.
Mohd Jafni, stated the project also aims to encourage more young people to study TVET, especially in high-demand fields like advanced manufacturing, robotics, green technology, and data centres
