Jointly officiated by Johor state EXCO of the Tourism, Environment, Heritage and Culture, Raven Kumar Krishnasamy and Johor state EXCO of Education, Information and Communication, Norlizah Noh, MuzArt International has announced its nationwide kid’s creativity & imagination contest themed ‘To See The Beauty of Life’ for children and teenagers aged 4 – 18 years old.
The contest is specifically designed post-COVID19 using ‘Owl’ as the key presentation on art development – an animal widely believed to have the best night vision, to represent seeing the lights in the dark, and the beauty in a challenging world, a message to deliver to the younger generation.
“We want to create a fun, dynamic, and meaningful campaign dedicated to children after the pandemic,’’ said Shannics Teh, founder and director of MuzArt International.
“With the last two years of the pandemic impact, children have been experiencing several lockdowns and social discouragement. It is traditionally different from how a normal childhood should be like and many children were even experiencing mental illness when being locked down for too long at home,” Shannics Teh added.
Therefore, MuzArt designed this nationwide contest with a dedicated mindset to:
- To re-activate children’s passion towards life and be inspired by the beauty in life;
- To use ‘Owl’ – an animal widely believed to have the best night vision, to represent that we see the lights in the dark, and we see the beauty in a challenging world;
- To encourage children to unleash their imagination and creativity by doing a handmade, creative, unique owl to represent their ideas;
- To display all the submissions publicly to increase awareness of children’s mental health post-COVID19;
The contest which is supported by the state government authorities namely Tourism Johor, the Ministry of Education and Yayasan Warisan Johor, is now open for participation until 19th December 2022. Participants must print out the template on A4 paper, and they can either colour or draw with any preferable colouring material like crayons, colour pencils and watercolours, and they can also turn the 2D paper into a 3D artwork by pasting any materials on the template and design their unique owl.
Participants are required to register and submit their masterpieces by mail to MuzArt International before 19th December 2022. All the submitted artworks stand a chance to be displayed at the Galeri Seni Johor – the Kompleks Warisan Sultan Abu Bakar, Johor Bahru, Johor.
