Moneysave, a Securities Commission Malaysia-regulated Peer-to-Peer (P2P) financing platform, has announced a target to facilitate up to RM500 million in funding for SMEs and Mid-Tier Companies (MTCs) in Johor, as the state continues to strengthen its position as a key investment, manufacturing and regional economic hub.
The announcement was made at CTOS Biz Day 2026, held at the Austin International Convention Centre in Johor Bahru.
The initiative is aimed at addressing the financing gap faced by businesses that require additional working capital to secure contracts, execute projects, expand operations and participate in larger supply-chain opportunities.
To date, Moneysave has facilitated more than RM400 million in P2P financing across a range of industries, including oil and gas services and equipment (OGSE), semiconductors, logistics, manufacturing, agro-food and other high-impact sectors.
Moneysave said its Johor initiative will provide businesses with access to flexible financing solutions, including, project and down-payment financing, working capital and business expansion financing and invoice financing and factoring.
The solutions are designed to support business owners, main contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers that require additional capital to take on larger projects, improve cash flow and strengthen their competitiveness.
For eligible businesses, Moneysave provides financing facilities ranging from RM500,000 to RM25 million per SME, without requiring conventional collateral or compulsory payment assignments.
Moneysave has financed SMEs, Mid-Tier Companies with annual turnovers ranging from approximately RM3 million to RM400 million, as well as listed companies.
The platform has supported businesses across strategic sectors including semiconductors, logistics, maritime services, manufacturing, construction support, renewable energy, OGSE and agro-food.
According to Moneysave, its financing model provides an alternative avenue for established businesses that may have strong contracts, receivables or commercial prospects but require faster and more flexible access to capital.
Vincent Soh, Chief Executive Officer of Moneysave, said the company wants to make alternative financing more accessible to businesses with strong commercial potential.
“Our objective is to democratise access to capital for Malaysian businesses that have the capability and commercial opportunities to grow, but may face limitations with traditional financing.
“We provide financing facilities from RM500,000 to RM25 million per SME, without conventional collateral and without compulsory payment assignments. This can be particularly relevant to contractors, suppliers and businesses that need funding to mobilise projects, fulfil purchase orders or manage working capital.
“Over the next three years, we aim to facilitate RM1 billion in financing nationwide, with a particular focus on high-growth and Shariah-compliant industries.”
As part of its Johor expansion, Moneysave plans to organise a series of financing clinics, business advisory sessions, investment forums and financial literacy programmes with industry associations and ecosystem partners, including Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA), MSME Association, PETRONAS, SAMENTA, MPMA, TEEAM, MSIA, MOGSC, PKBM, PKMM, MICCI, Johor Bahru Chinese Chamber of Commerce, South Johor Foundry and Engineering Industries Association and other industry organisations.
The need for alternative financing is also gaining greater attention among Malaysian SMEs as businesses seek additional sources of capital to support expansion and participate in increasingly sophisticated supply chains.
Lee Shin Mei, Chief Executive Officer of CTOS Data Systems Sdn Bhd, said, “Many local SMEs are actively seeking alternative financiers that are regulated by the Securities Commission to support their next phase of growth. Initiatives such as this are important in strengthening regional supply chains and helping Malaysian businesses remain competitive.”
Moneysave believes Johor presents significant opportunities for SMEs and MTCs, particularly those operating within manufacturing, logistics, construction, engineering, maritime, energy, semiconductor and other industries connected to regional supply chains.
The company intends to deepen its engagement with Johor businesses through direct financing consultations and industry programmes, with the aim of helping more local companies secure the capital required to scale and participate in larger domestic and regional opportunities.
