Property group Mah Sing held a balloting event in Iskandar Puteri
A balloting event was held recently in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, by Mah Sing Group Bhd to decide on the fate of 50 1-floor medium cost shophouses that are located in Meridin East Phase 1, in Plentong, Johor Bahru, worth RM200,000 each.
In attendance were Haji Mohd Radzi bin Haji Mohd Amin – Head of Department, Office of Johor State Secretary, Housing Division, and Ng Jui Eian, Senior General Manager for Mah Sing Project Development.
The ballot was done using a new system to increase randomness in the selection of candidates. “I believe this system is the best at the moment, as before this, we used a merit system to determine who the candidates were. As many were not happy with it, we had decided to think of a better idea, and this was what we arrived at, “said Mohd Radzi.
In attendance were 177 candidates of different races hoping to score a lot. The breakdown of invited candidates was 66 Malays (54 in attendance), 128 Chinese (101 in attendance) and 22 Indians (22 in attendance). In addition to those selected, 3 others were selected for every ballot as a backup in case those that won their slot couldn’t follow through.
The size of each shophouse is 1200sqft and located at Phase 1 of Meridin East, Plentong, Johor Bahru.
