E-hailing services have become one of the main forms of transportation for university students, especially those who live outside the main campus. Their main mobility option is public transportation, because most of the universities don’t allow students to bring their cars, as this can cause traffic congestions. Due to its convenience, E-hailing has become the best solution for them.

The management of Maxim E-hailing works to ensure that the platform gets endorsements from the universities. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Maxim E-hailing and the management of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), and now students can get their rides directly to where they need to go, because the company now has a legal permission to provide rides on campus.

“I believe that this collaboration can help to make transportation around the campus safer, and also enable us to monitor it. E-hailing is safe for students, as all data is recorded and rides take them directly from one location to another. Some students live outside the campus and they need E-hailing services to come to their classes. This is a convenient and affordable option for them,” said a representative of the management of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak.

E-hailing uses a direct model of transportation, where the partner-driver picks up the passenger from the start location and drives them directly to the target location. This can be more optimal than other methods of transportation, because using E-hailing saves time that otherwise would be spent on searching for a parking spot, walking to the entrance, and waiting for public transport.

Maxim is also working to improve the infrastructure of universities by installing benches in waiting areas. In total, more than 50 benches were placed throughout the country in 2024. The bench initiative aims to provide comfortable waiting areas for students.

Recently, Maxim Johor collaborated with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) to hold a three-day event called UNBOCS 2024, where the company’s team shared gifts, snacks and merchandise at the entrance, and sponsored lucky draws.

“We are truly grateful and excited to collaborate with esteemed universities across Malaysia. These partnerships reflect our commitment to supporting education and empowering young talents. We always provide students with opportunities to save money on Maxim rides; we’ve had a number of student-aimed special offers with several promo codes for discounts on rides. We believe these collaborations will create a meaningful impact, fostering innovation and shaping the future workforce. We look forward to growing together and making a positive difference in the community,” said the director of Maxim Malaysia, Mohd Hazwan Musley.
