Malaysian-born, UK based new pop icon Chloe Qisha releases her highly anticipated self-titled debut EP, Chloe Qisha. The release of the EP follows the monumentally successful singles ‘Sexy Goodbye’, ‘I Lied, I’m Sorry’, and ‘VCR Home Video’, all of which feature on the EP. Alongside the release of Chloe Qisha are visualisers for two new songs, ‘Scary Movie’ and ‘Evelyn’.
Artists like Chloe Qisha don’t come around often and she proves this on her debut EP which has been a work in progress for the past year between Chloe and her close collaborator Rob Milton. On the Chloe Qisha EP, Chloe traverses between pop hits exuding in vibrant, upbeat melodies and sumptuous ballads. The 5-track project is a testimony to the artistic proficiency Chloe possesses, as well as her versatility as songwriter she is set to become one of the biggest names in pop music for years to come.
To date, Chloe Qisha has seen ‘Sexy Goodbye’ premiered on BBC Radio 1’s ‘Future Pop’ with Mollie King – in addition to regular plays across BBC Radio 1 – and has received support from the likes of Dork, DIY, The Line Of Best Fit, Capital Buzz, and Still Listening, to name just a few. Chloe has also seen immense success commercially, with ‘I Lied, I’m Sorry’ amassing over 1.6 million streams, and ‘Sexy Goodbye’ approaching nearly half a million streams.
Speaking about her debut EP, Chloe said, “This debut EP is essentially a diary that documents the last year and a half of writing and developing as an artist. Not only in terms of lyrics but also in the journey to finding a sound and building the ‘Chloe Qisha’ world.
From ‘Scary Movie’ – the very first song Rob and I wrote together all the way up to ‘Sexy Goodbye’, this project stitches together every feeling I felt, and perfectly sums up all the various musical influences I’ve been obsessing over since day 1.
Even though some of the songs were written at the very beginning of this process, they’ve aged along with me, and I can’t wait for the last two songs to be out in the world. I hope people get excited when listening to this EP, as we’re only just getting started – I love each song like they’re my child, and I feel so lucky that I get to enter the scene with such incredible music that’s never felt more authentic to me.”
Chloe Qisha is an incredibly exciting new singer, songwriter and self-taught multi-instrumentalist who taps into the alternative pop sound perfectly but with her own unique twist. Malaysian born and UK based, Chloe is well travelled, considered and sophisticated but under the chic exterior there is a provocative and restless soul. That dichotomy is reflected in Chloe’s music which is perfect pop but with a dark, playful underbelly. However, most of all it is her songwriting that sets Chloe apart. Having studied psychology at Undergraduate level and communications at Masters Level perhaps it is no surprise that Chloe is able to unpick the human condition with wisdom and dexterity.
If you happen to be travelling to the UK early next year, catch Chloe Qisha live on Tuesday, 4th March 2025, at The Deaf Institute, Manchester or on Thursday, 6th March 2025, at OMEARA, London.
