The Malaysian Parliament continues its strong commitment to producing the next generation of national leaders through the organisation of the Malaysian Youth Parliament Programme Roadshow (PBMy) held at the Tan Sri Mohamed Rahmat Complex, Johor Bahru.
The programme, which culminated on 11th April 2026, is the 6th roadshow series organised. This initiative continues to receive a very encouraging response from the youth.
To date, 13 youth parties have been successfully established, while the record number of membership registrations has now reached 9,588 people in preparation for the PBMy election, which is expected to be held in July 2026.
Dato’ Dr Ahmad Husaini bin Abdul Rahman, Chief Administrator of the Malaysian Parliament and Chairman of the Malaysian Youth Parliament, has addressed the participants directly through the PBMy Programme Roadshow Dialogue Session.
This session focuses on empowering the role of the younger generation and is an important interactive field to bring parliamentary institutions closer to youth at the grassroots level.
Participants were also given a comprehensive exposure to the functions and governance of PBMy through a briefing session presented by the Policy Unit.
The roadshow in Johor Bahru ended with a brilliant closing speech by Senator Datuk Nur Jazlan bin Tan Sri Mohamed, Deputy Speaker of the Dewan Negara.
The increase in membership by 9,588 people proves that the younger generation of Malaysia is increasingly aware and interested in participating in democratic practices and national policy formation.
The Malaysian Parliament welcomes this positive development and is always ready to support the wishes and voices of the Malaysian Youth Parliament.
