It’s official! Siti Ainulmursyida has been announced as the Winner of Malaysia Teacher Prize (MTP) 2025 at the grand finale of the MTP Summit 2025.
Her triumph concludes a rigorous selection process that saw 5 Finalists, including Cikgu Siti Ainul, being shortlisted out of a whopping 2,300 applications from educators all over the country. As the winner, she is awarded with a RM50,000 cash prize, and a scholarship to pursue a postgraduate programme at INTI International University & Colleges, worth around RM70,000. This brings the total amount in prize value to RM120,000.
Now in its fourth year of celebrating the teaching profession and recognising the power of teachers in moulding the potential of the nation, the Malaysia Teacher Prize is organised by PEMIMPIN. PEMIMPIN is a non-profit organisation dedicated to strengthening school leadership across Malaysia. It supports teachers at every stage of their leadership journey by building core skills, deepening capacity, and amplifying their influence to drive systemic change.
Cikgu Siti Ainul, a special education teacher, believes that true education goes beyond exams, preparing students to be independent and confident in facing the world. She developed the digital platform PEKA OKU, benefiting over 300 students nationwide by providing scholarship, training, and career opportunities through an AI chatbot. Under her guidance, students have represented Malaysia in the Global IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities, winning multiple international awards, including gold medals. On her win, Cikgu Siti Ainul said, “I’m deeply grateful for this opportunity to represent my students, and to stand for our belief that every child, regardless of ability, deserves to learn, to be independent, and to dream.”
Speaking at the Awards Ceremony, Fadhlina Sidek, Minister of Education, said, “Teachers are a critical pillar of nation building as they directly impact the growth and development of young Malaysians. Given the lifelong influence educators have on their students, it is encouraging to see important stakeholders, namely PEMIMPIN, YTL Foundation, Yayasan Hasanah and ECM Libra Foundation, and also INTI International University & Colleges joining hands to elevate the profession and give teachers and their service the recognition they deserve. I also extend my congratulations and gratitude to all the teachers who have participated in this prize and hope they will continue to act as fl ag bearers for the teaching profession in Malaysia.”

The MTP Summit 2025 Under the theme “A Step Together, in Shaping the Future,” the MTP Summit 2025 brought together educators, policymakers, and partners for two days of keynotes, panels, and interactive workshops. The event welcomed more than 800 members of the education community from across Malaysia, united by a shared commitment to reimagining the future of teaching and learning.
Among the keynote speakers were Khairy Jamaluddin, co-host of Keluar Sekejap, Siti Kamariah Ahmad Subki, Managing Director and Trustee of Yayasan Hasanah, and Dr Nanthaporn Prae Seributra, CEO of Starfish Education, Thailand. Their insights reflected the Summit’s vision of fostering collaboration across sectors and borders to strengthen education systems and empower educators. They were joined by more than 80 speakers over the two days.
