Majestic Johor Festival Ends with a Bang

An increase of over 20 thousand visitors from last year’s attendance further sets the festival as an annual state’s tourist attraction.

Majestic Johor Festival (MJF)’s 3rd Edition this year, which lasted for five days at Puteri Harbour, Iskandar Puteri, Johor, ended on 1st September 2024, with the atmosphere around Puteri Harbour being full of colour and lively with an interesting performance organised by Tourism Johor through the Majestic Johor Festival 2024 Parade. The parade was witnessed by more than 50,000 visitors who had come early and had filled alongside the road.

This lively parade was joined by more than 25 contingents including the appearance of Tourism Johor’s mascot “JOH”, the opening performance of a cultural dance by Yayasan Warisan Johor, ‘fire eater’, KD Sultan Ismail’s band performance, dragon dance performance by Persatuan Long Tian and school bands by Pasir Gudang School Band, SMK Ledang and SMK Paduka Tuan.

Participating in the impressive parade were EDU Pro JPNJ, Kompang Paklong KDSM Association, ‘Big Pipe’ from 6 RRD Brigade, Barongan Parit Bugis Dance Group, Hong Yang Taman Johor Sports Association, ‘Anytime Fitness’, band by SMK (P) Sultan Ibrahim Johor Bahru, marching band by Foon Yew High School Band, Association of Bicycles in the Track, Johor Bahru Thelipatist Club, Tebrau Strait Classic Bicycle Club Group, Harley Davidson Motor Club, Riders and Vehicles from GRAB Malaysia, Classic Autoshow performance by Car Club Community Johor, a parade by Jetski Safari from Promark Watersport, Motor Vehicle Association by PS Holidays.com which brought a “Hummer” vehicle display and a parade of AKRR Hyundai vehicles before concluding with a fireworks display.

Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Haji Azmi Bin Rohani, Secretary of the Johor Government, attended the Majestic Johor Festival 2024’s closing ceremony, where he also extended the prize for the lucky prize and winners of the “Spend and Win” event. He came along with his wife, Datin Dr Hajah Noor Azizah Binti Abdul Latif.

The event was also attended by Dato’ Haji Mohd Haffiz Bin Ahmad, Mayor of Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP), Zainor Bin Adani, Batu Pahat District Officer, Shahril Nizam Bin Abdul Rahim, Director of Johor Tourism, Tan Ling Tian Soon @ Ah Soon, Chairman of the Johor State Health and Environment Committee, Datuk Haji Pandak Bin Haji Ahmad, Member of the State Assembly for Kota Iskandar and Heads of State and Federal Departments, as well as the media.

It took almost an hour before concluding with a fireworks display that wowed visitors who arrived as early as 6 p.m.

Besides the parade, among the main highlights of MJF 2024 was the Royal Johor Classic Vehicle Exhibition, exclusively displaying a collection of 54 classic Johor Royal vehicles, which recorded an attendance of 246,282 visitors.

There was also Johor ethnic cultural performances and entertainment from popular singers such as Noh Hujan, Imran Ajmain, 6ixthsense Band, and many more.

98 food vendors and exhibitions from different districts in the state of Johor showcased the uniqueness of the state and also opened opportunities for local entrepreneurs to introduce their products and strengthen the state of Johor as a major tourism destination in Malaysia and internationally.

MJF recorded an attendance of 607,189 visitors compared to 584,924 visitors the previous year.
