After two years being organised virtually, Laksamana Neon Run 2022 will be held physically this year on the 6th of August 2022. This programme was organised by Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation (TLJCF) and for the first time, Neon theme was selected to be the concept of the event. The 5KM night run will be held at Dataran Iskandar Puteri, Johor.
Since 2017, almost 12,000 participants from all over Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and
Indonesia have taken part in the Laksamana Run event. Her Highness Tunku Tun Aminah
Binti Sultan Ibrahim is the Royal Patron for this event, same as the previous years.
According to Mohd Ikmal Izam Zaini, Chief Executive Officer of TLJCF, there were 2300 participants who signed up for the (physical) Laksamana Neon Run 2022, and 300 participants who signed up for the virtual run since the registration opened on 14th May 2022.
“For the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Laksamana Run has been organised virtually and the support given by the participants from Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia was truly amazing. Therefore, this year’s Laksamana Run will offer both physical and virtual run categories.”
“Besides promoting a healthy lifestyle, the run aims to collect funds through sponsorship packages which will be contributed by corporate organisations and TLJCF welcomes any organisations to contribute to this fundraising programme. Tax exemption will also
be given to any organisation who contributes in terms of monetary sponsorship,” he added.
