KPJ Pasir Gudang Specialist Hospital through the Specialist Doctors Welfare Fund distributed ‘Kotak Kasih’ donations in the form of personal protective equipment (PPE) to frontline staff, while personal healthcare items, carton drinks and dry food were distributed to the patients at the COVID-19 Pasir Quarantine and Treatment Centre warehouse at Pasir Gudang Indoor Stadium (PKRC Pasir Gudang).

The PPE donation to the frontliners includes PPE suit equipment, boot cover, head cover, N95 face mask, apron, head cover, rubber gloves, face shield and sanitary fluid.

According to the Chairman of the KPJ Pasir Gudang Specialist Doctors Welfare Fund, Dr Nor Aizal Che Hamzah, the ‘Kotak Kasih’ (Box of Love) contribution is part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative from all specialist doctors at KPJ Pasir Gudang who are concerned about the current situation in PKRC.

“The hospital is ready to help in any way to ensure that Malaysia is free from the COVID-19 pandemic and we hope that our small contribution can help patients and the frontliners in these difficult times,” said Dr Nor.

“KPJ Pasir Gudang and Tabung Prihatin Doktor Pakar are always committed in supporting the frontliners’ efforts to fight COVID-19. We would also like to thank the frontliners who work here because they continue to serve and treat patients regardless of fatigue and tiredness,” she added.

This ‘Kotak Kasih’ contribution is the 8th CSR programme by KPJ Pasir Gudang Specialist Doctors through the Specialist Doctors’ Welfare Fund since the enforcement of the Movement Control Order (PKP) in March 2020.

Among the assistance that has been given are donations to the homeless, orphanages, old people’s homes, assistance with daily necessities to low-income families and multi-racial houses of worship.
