Six members of the Johor State Executive Council (Exco) were retained for the upcoming term, while four new members were appointed to the state government.
Today at Istana Bukit Serene, all ten Exco members were sworn in before Johor’s Regent, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, during the oath-taking ceremony and presentation of appointment letters.
Md. Israk Abdullah (Kukup), P. Pannir Selvam (Perling), Hasrunizah Hassan (Pulai Sebatang), and Dr Muhammad Naqib Md. Ghazali (Panti) are the four new members of the exco.
The Agriculture, Agro-Based Industry, and Rural Development Committee will be led by Md. Israk; the Unity, Heritage, and Culture Committee by Pannir Selvam; the Education and Information Committee by Dr Muhammad Naqib; and the Women, Family, and Community Development Committee by Hasrunizah.
The six members of the previous Exco lineup who were kept will still be in charge of their individual portfolios.
After Barisan Nasional (BN) won the mandate to form the government in the most recent Johor state election, the appointment of the new exco line-up completes the administrative structure of the Johor state government.
Following the BN’s victory in the 16th Johor State Election, Onn Hafiz, a Machap assemblyman, was sworn in as Johor Menteri Besar for a second consecutive term last Sunday, 12th July 2026.
Onn Hafiz, who is also the chairman of the Johor BN, won the Machap seat in the Johor elections last Saturday with a margin of 15,375 votes.
In the Johor state election, BN won 48 of 56 state seats, securing the mandate to form the state government for the new term.
The Johor State Exco line-up for the new term is:
1. Md. Israk Abdullah (Kukop) – Chairman of the Agriculture, Agro-based Industry and Rural Development Committee.
2. Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor (Bukit Permai) – Chairman of the Housing and Local Government Committee.
3. P.Pannir Selvam (Perling) – Chairman of the Unity, Heritage and Culture Committee.
4. Hasrunizah Hassan (Pulai Sebatang) – Chairman of the Women, Family and Community Development Committee.
5. Mohd Hairi Mad Shah (Larkin) – Chairman of the Youth, Sports, Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development Committee.
6. Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid (Semerah) – Chairman of the Islamic Religious Affairs Committee.
7. Ling Tian Soon (Yong Peng) – Chairman of the Health and Environment Committee.
8. Lee Ting Han (Paloh) – Chairman of the Investment, Trade, Consumer Affairs and Human Resources Committees.
9. Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh (Bukit Pasir) – Chairman of the Public Works, Transport, Infrastructure and Communications Committee.
10. Dr Muhammad Naqib Md Ghazali – Chairman of the Education and Information Committee.
Media Digital Johor reported that all new members of the Johor State Executive Council (AMMK) are reminded to immediately begin their respective duties without any ‘honeymoon’ period to ensure that the mandate given by the people of Johor in the 16th Johor State Assembly General Election (PRN DN) can be translated into more efficient and effective service delivery.
The appointment of the Johor State Executive Council is not a privilege but rather a great trust and responsibility that must be carried out for the benefit of the people of Johor, as Dato’ Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Menteri Besar of Johor, reminded.
It was also said that the state government is also determined to continue the Johor 2030 Forward Agenda with more focus and effectiveness in order to build a more developed, prosperous and peaceful Johor, in addition to continuing to defend all people regardless of race because they are all part of the Johor people.
