Johor Tourism Interchange (JTI) application managed by Johor Tourism is expanding its purpose by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Fraser Place Puteri Harbour, Pinetree Marina Resort and Hard Rock Cafe Puteri Harbour attended by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Datuk Seri Dr Santhara J.P, and witnessed by Developer of Johor Tourism Interchange, Mohd Fairuz Iskandar Abd Aziz, Director of Tourism Johor, Tuan Haji Suhairi Haji Hashim, General Manager Fraser Place, Johnny Lau, Operation Manager of Pinetree Marina Resort, Murad Usat and General Manager of Hard Rock Cafe, Jimmy Wong.
The agreement is described as a significant milestone in continued collaboration with JTI to recognise Tiong Nam’s trinity in Puteri Harbour in the fields of Education, Medical and Business Tourism in Johor while also strengthening cooperation between the state of Johor and the Indonesia Travel agency.
“This smart partnership would help promote Pinetree through promotions that are made available in JTI, and it would definitely add more value both ways,” Datuk Seri Dr Santhara told reporters during the press conference, adding that JTI is a step forward for MOTAC compared to other agencies.
As the restrictions are lifted significantly and borders are reopening, the partnership is seen as particularly relevant in the challenging times.
“Other than MOTAC, we would be partnering with Tourism Johor Southern Region, and our branch located in Singapore, JETCO, specialising in the economy, tourism and culture,” said Tuan Haji Suhairi Haji Hashim when asked about upcoming agencies that would partner with JTI.
“JTI is in line with Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk On Hafiz’ encouragement for the state’s agencies to go more digital in the future,” he added.
“This partnership is possible together with Tourism Johor as it is an IT-related company that is a one-stop for everything tourism including medical tourism,” Johnny Lau commented on the partnership while further elaborating on the recent Tourism Johor and JTI MoU with one of Indonesia’s biggest travel and trade union, Association of The Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA) that has seen a sure influx of medical tourism interest to Pinetree and Fraser Place expected to arrive in Q3 2022.
