Johor is the largest durian producer in Malaysia followed by Pahang and Sarawak

Johor will host the international level event Asia Durian Summit & Agroworld Malaysia 2024, which will include 700 ASEAN participants and 2,000 local participants, from 28th to 30th June, at Forest City Sales Gallery, Gelang Patah, Iskandar Puteri, Johor.

The event, organised by the Malaysian Durian Industry Association and IMS Asia with the cooperation and support of Tourism Johor, the Department of Agriculture, and FAMA for the second time after being held in Davao, Philippines, will feature the largest gathering of durian connoisseurs and enthusiasts from Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam.

This event is an effort and initiative to promote the durian season and agrotourism activities in Johor, the country’s largest durian producer, followed by Pahang and Sarawak.

The expo will host a conference and provide an opportunity to meet key players in the ‘king of fruits’ production/exporting sector from home and abroad, as well as a global trading platform for interaction sessions with durian consultants, the plantation sector, and partnerships with international durian and tropical fruit importers, investors, and the main agencies.

It is open to the public for free from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm.

It will also feature experts from Asian countries who will speak on topics ranging from durian cultivation technology to market trends and durian-based products related to innovation and management.

Visitors can sample various types of durian during the Durian buffet or purchase and eat durian a la carte at the expo site, which is open from 10.30am to 6.00pm.

Throughout the expo, various well-known durian species, including Musang King, will be highlighted.
