Unveiled during the state assembly at Kota Iskandar on 21st November 2024 under the Johor Budget 2025, Johor Super Lane is designed to streamline governance, accelerate business processes, and drive economic growth, solidifying Johor’s position as a premier investment hub in the region.
The JSL will be run by the Invest Malaysia Facilitation Centre Johor (IMFC-J), a one-stop investment centre devoted to accelerating the state’s investment and development procedures, according to Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.
According to Onn Hafiz, JSL is a cutting-edge platform created to improve business operations and streamline procedures in Johor.
Among its key advantages are issuing business operation licences within one hour after the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) is submitted, and cutting the land development process timeline from 37 months to just 13 months.
Additionally, JSL is prepared to implement a number of enhancements to streamline and coordinate development procedures.
One of its main characteristics is that developers can submit several applications at once, such as engineering plans, building plans, landscaping designs, street lighting layouts and planning permission.
“The programme also expedites building work approvals, cutting the time frame from 57 days to just 14 days. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA) reports can now be processed simultaneously, allowing for the clearance of these important documents in 14 days as opposed to the previous 30.
The time needed to issue land titles has also been significantly shortened, from 240 days to 53 days, he added.
In order to expedite operational readiness, JSL has implemented a policy that permits businesses to install machinery prior to receiving their CCC, according to Onn Hafiz, further demonstrating its dedication to business facilitation.
To guarantee seamless finalisation, he added, construction monitoring and CCC support will also be arranged two months prior to a project’s expected completion.
In the future, the state government hopes that the JSL will not only speed up development and investment processes but also foster a competitive, business-friendly environment, according to Onn Hafiz.
“This effort aligns with the vision of making Johor a primary investment destination in the region,” he added.
