Johor Corporation (JCorp) and its Group of Companies, through Yayasan Johor Corporation, donated RM500,000 to Johor Cerebral Palsy Association (JCPA), in line with its ‘Membina & Membela’ goal of improving the well-being of the community in Johor.
JCorp’s contribution is part of the ‘Friends of Cerebral Palsy Johor’ project, which seeks to establish self-sustaining support for the Association with the aid of the private sector and non- governmental organisations.
JCorp’s involvement was a collaborative effort with its Group of Companies, which include Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad, KPJ Healthcare Berhad, QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd, Johor Land Berhad, and Waqaf An-Nur Corporation Berhad, in keeping with its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) pledge.
Datuk Syed Mohamed said, “The commitment and dedication displayed by the teachers, staff and members of the JCPA is truly remarkable. This contribution is not only a part of our corporate responsibility effort in line with our ESG commitment, but also our privilege to play a role in contributing towards the sustainable well-being of Johoreans through this association in making a difference to adults and children with cerebral palsy disabilities by providing rehabilitation and special education services”.
Hasni in his speech shared, “We are appreciative of the contribution from JCorp which will enable the JCPA to continue with the services that it has been providing to the state for more than 54 years. We hope other organisations will come forward to become ‘Friends of Cerebral Palsy Johor’. I will carry on with the effort to ensure that the association will be recognised as a special school funded by the Federal Government”.
The Johor Cerebral Palsy Association is a rehabilitation and special education facility for children and adults with Cerebral Palsy. It is Malaysia’s first fully integrated Cerebral Palsy Centre, with a special education school, rehabilitation unit, and vocational workshops, as well as facilities and services that are among the best in the country.
