Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim stated that the signing of a deal between Malaysia and Singapore to establish a special economic zone in Johor is probably going to be delayed until January 2025.

Anwar told the Senate that the signing, which was originally planned for 9th December 2024, had to be cancelled due to Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong contracting COVID-19 this week.
