Johor Government Donates Over RM11 Million for Flood Victims

A total of RM40 million under Special Financial Assistance for the Northeast Monsoon Flood Disaster (MTL)

Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has announced assistance totalling RM11,247,000.00 that will be distributed to 3,749 Heads of Households (KIR) registered at the Temporary Relocation Centre (PPS). Each KIR will receive RM3,000.00, which will be given simultaneously in the six affected districts on 27th March 2025, following the Johor State Government’s announcement regarding the Special Financial Assistance for the Northeast Monsoon Flood Disaster (MTL).

In conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri, the Johor State Government through various agencies, has also allocated RM18,477,350.00 for Hari Raya Aidilfitri Assistance to 90,439 poor and needy recipients. This assistance began to be distributed in early March and is expected to be completed in the last week before Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

A total of RM1,500,000.00 were donated as Hari Raya Aidilfitri Assistance to 5,000 Muslims, including Orang Asli from the muallaf asnaf.

RM3,400,000.00 as a one-off assistance of RM500 to 6,970 imams and bilals. This assistance will be distributed in the final week of March 2025, RM323,000.00 for Hari Raya Aidilfitri Assistance of RM500 to 646 villages chiefs, RM21,500.00 as a one-off assistance of RM500 to 43 Batin Orang Asli, RM13,000.00 as a one-off assistance of RM500 to 26 Orang Asli Village Development and Security Committee Chairmen.

There are also RM120,100.00 for Aidilfitri Donation Assistance for Johor’s Makmur Adopted Children of RM100 to 1,201 Johor’s Makmur Adopted Children.

“In addition, to ensure that Johor students can return home to celebrate Raya with their families, the State Government has allocated RM70,000.00 for sponsored transportation for Johor students returning to their hometown, providing 30 buses to transport 550 students,” he said.

To ease the burden on the people in making Aidilfitri preparations, the Johor State Government has allocated RM1,600,000.00 for the Jualan Kasih Johor (Johor’s Love Sale), which took place at 57 locations from 22-29 March, benefiting 200,000 visitors and supporting more than 300 local entrepreneurs.

The state government has also allocated RM787,050.00 for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri food basket initiative, which will be distributed to 15 People’s Housing Projects (PPR) and 7 Government Rental Houses (RSK), benefiting 15,741 recipients.

The Johor State Government has also announced a Special Hari Raya Aidilfitri Assistance of RM5,490,100.00 to 54,901 frontline personnel serving in the state, comprising 12,982 police personnel, 8,978 military personnel, 1,335 firemen, 1,144 JPAM personnel, 3,529 personnel at CIQ BSI and KSAB, and 26,933 doctors and nurses.

“On this occasion, I am pleased to announce that the Johor State Government has agreed to provide RM1,000.00 Special Financial Assistance for Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2025 to 20,821 state civil servants, including those working in Local Authorities (PBT) and State Statutory Bodies. Payments will be made within the first week of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.”

“The state government hopes that this assistance will alleviate the people’s burden in preparing to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri, as well as serve as a catalyst for civil servants to continue to serve with full dedication for the progress of Johor and the well-being of all Johoreans,” he concluded.
