Johor Corporation (JCorp) has contributed RM106,000 to flood victims in Johor through Yayasan JCorp in collaboration with Southern Volunteers.
The donation was facilitated by the support of JCorp Group of companies such as Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad, KPJ Healthcare Berhad, QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd, and JLG Group Sdn Bhd, as well as public donations through the Johor Flood Victims Sinar Syawal Fund, which was established at the end of March.
Chairman of Yayasan JCorp, Rozaini Mohd Sani said Yayasan JCorp launched the Sinar Syawal Johor Flood Victims campaign initiative as a platform to raise funds and encourage the public to contribute to help those affected by the floods.
“The collection of funds through this campaign has been running until the middle of Syawal and the donations will be handed over in stages to the victims involved to give cheer to celebrate Syawal this year,” he said.
Yayasan JCorp and Southern Volunteers assisted flood victims in Batu Pahat by donating RM200 to 30 families in Kampung Parit Yob, Mukim 6, Parit Yaani, Batu Pahat, Johor.
Southern Volunteers also received a donation of 1,000 blankets and cash from Yayasan JCorp for flood victims in various districts. They took part in a successful Post-Flood Relief Mission in Kampung Seri Medan and Parit Sulong Batu Pahat with Southern Volunteers. As the number of flood victims grows, the Yayasan continued to provide assistance worth RM170,000.
“For the record, Yayasan JCorp received approval from the Malaysian Companies Commission (SSM) in early 2023, allowing the activity of seeking charity funds to be viable.”
“Every donation made to Yayasan JCorp is tax-deductible up to 10% of an individual’s or company’s total income.”
Since 2020, the JCorp Foundation has contributed up to RM857,200 to be distributed to those affected by floods in Malaysia.
