Take a dip in one of the world’s most stunning fjords – Dusky Sound

Explore the crystal-clear waters of Doubtful Sound and Dusky Sound, located on the untamed west coast of New Zealand’s South Island. As one of the world’s most stunning fjords, Dusky Sound is the largest and most spectacular of the Fiords at the Fiordland National Park. It is virtually untouched, despite being discovered more than 240 years ago; access is available via a helicopter or float plane ride only. Experience the magic of New Zealand’s largest kauri tree at Waipoua Forest

Of all New Zealand’s kauri forests, none is more famous than Waipoua Forest on the west coast, just north of Dargaville. As the largest remaining tract of native forest in Northland, Waipoua is an ancient green world of towering trees and rare birds. This forest is also the home of Tane Mahuta – rightly called ‘The Lord of the Forest’, as it is the country’s largest kauri tree. It is approximately 2,000 years old and still growing. The beauty of night-time at Mount Cook is just as spectacular as its day-time view

At the foot of the New Zealand’s highest mountain sits the village of Mount Cook – a comfortable haven in one of the most unforgiving parts of the country. On every side, the Southern Alps scrape the sky. Lauded as one of the best places for stargazing in New Zealand, the Aoraki Mount Cook National Park is an exceptionally beautiful place to experience at twilight.
