I have always been a fan of Ibis Styles Johor Iskandar Puteri, as it is known to have hosted several athletes, especially badminton players, for tournaments around Iskandar Puteri, and that includes a domestic titan, well-known football team, when they visited a domestic league match in Sultan Ibrahim Stadium back in 2023.
With the renowned Accor’s hospitality, Ibis Styles Johor Iskandar Puteri presented their affordable Big Boss lunch buffet on weekdays at their strEATs Restaurant located on the first floor. Beautiful and relaxed ambience with earth-toned interiors that are so pleasant to the eyes – it is perfect to rest your eyes from straining for hours staring at the screen.
Here, you could whet your appetite with hearty meals such as mixed rice of selected dishes for the day, fried rice, char kway teow, freshly cooked noodles with soups of the day, assorted salads and ulam-ulaman, pastries and jellies for dessert and so on!
Feeling creative, I got to make my plate of mixed rice, a la ‘nasi ambeng’, with all the ingredients that they have for the buffet. I managed to top my fluffy rice with an exquisite fish dish, beef kerabu, anchovies, roasted peanuts, and various sambals to mimic the traditional dish, to my taste.
I was then in the mood for the classic Cendol on my ABC; the local’s shaved ice treats with various topping and lo and behold, the stall with ice cream to scoop from, making my bowl of cold treats extra special on such a hot afternoon!
At only RM28+ per person and RM18+ for children aged six to 12 years and senior citizens, this is very much a hearty lunch where you can host your family, friends or colleagues on a weekday. Check out their private room that could fit maximum 24 pax, and all you need to do is purchase the buffet’s pax to use the room, subject to availability. You can book the room upon arrival.
