Cementing its position as a destination of choice for the wine connoisseurs in Malaysia, Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas has been honoured with the Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence in recognition of the exceptional care that went into curating the wine list at the resort’s signature steakhouse Sea.Fire.Salt.

Considered the world’s highest honour for a restaurant wine programme, Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Awards recognise dining establishments with a widespread and deep commitment in terms of selection. Before arriving at a decision, the jury also takes into consideration a thematic match to the menu in both price and style, along with the quality and assortment of producers represented.

Anantara Desaru Coast opened in January 2020 with a wine cellar that carried both big names and ambitious new vintners, leading the property to receive the highly coveted Wine Spectator Award of Excellence the same year — an accolade it retained a year later in 2021.
