Regency Specialist Hospital Sdn Bhd’s Obstetrics & Gynaecology (O&G) team became superheroes when they assisted to deliver three (3) handsome triplets naturally without the intervention of Caesarean section.
The mother, Dr Siti Nurul Jamaludin, a non-practicing medical doctor with previous miscarriage, and challenges, naturally delivered the 3 handsome triplet boys despite known and unknown risks at 4.00 am on 6th July 2020 at Regency Specialist Hospital. She was under the good care of the highly experienced O&G doctor, Dr Thokha bin Muhammad where she entrusted entirely with her triplets’ and her own life.
Dr Siti and her husband Iqbal Idris had looked into fertility treatments as a solution to their dreams of starting a family after her miscarriage and trying naturally for 2 years. In January 2020, the couple found out that the IVF insemination had been successful, and that Dr Siti was pregnant with the triplets. The triplets came with an average healthy weight of 2.60kg and both parents and babies were discharged on 10th July 2020.
This delivery marks a significant O&G milestone within the healthcare circle as triplets are rarely delivered through normal delivery. Therefore, this opens up space to the possibility of triplets to be delivered via normal delivery apart from caesarean delivery.
May the birth of these babies serve as an inspiration to other couples who are still trying to start a family to not give up hope as anything is possible when there’s a way!
