It’s been 13 years since the last Visit Johor. It’s time to open our hearts to the world again!
The Visit Johor 2020 pre-launch ceremony recently took place at the Atrium, Upper Ground Floor of Paradigm Mall, Johor Bahru and officiated by Menteri Besar Johor, Datuk Dr Sahruddin bin Jamal.
Together with the launch of Visit Johor 2020 was the launch of its Logo and Mascot. The ceremony marked the start of a campaign to inform the public about the programmes to be implemented and key destinations to visit in the state in conjunction with Visit Johor 2020 Year.
The logo chosen was designed in the form of a ‘Gambus’ instrument through the use of different colours and elements to represent the state of Johor such as its beauty, uniqueness and our readiness to open our hearts to visitors coming to Johor. The mascot is endearingly named as ‘Joh’ which is the short form of Johor and was designed in the form of a Malayan Tiger which shows bravery and the fighting spirit of Johoreans.
“Our hope is to invite up to 17 million visitors, including 8.4 million overnight visitors. I want we as Johoreans to work together to make Visit Johor 2020 a success and that we as Johoreans will greet our guests warmly. I also wish that we do not take advantage of our visitors as it would leave a negative effect. Please remember to smile and be courteous to all our visitors,” said Dr Sahruddin to all Johoreans as a whole during the launching.
Also present at the event was Exco Liow Cai Tung, Tourism, Women Family, and Community Development chairman and Tourism Johor.
