Everyone’s description of happiness is different and on that broad spectrum, we could all agree that good food would indeed bring up everyone’s mood. That is probably what Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre had in mind when they prepared Pursuit of Hi-Teaness, complete with fun activities on fair-like stations such as DIY Cotton Candy, Make-your-own-Mocktails, Wagons of ice cream and a Chocolate Fountain!
You may want to start off your Hi-tea with some Pandan-fragrant coconut milk-based Nasi Lemak wrapped in a soft, hot omelette, inspired by the famous Japanese ‘omurice’ that would surely hit the tastebuds. What makes it even better is that the choices of sides to go with are endless and you even have options like Tiger Prawns and even Sambal Petai! I went with Chicken Rendang and a generous amount of peanuts, my afternoon had never felt better.
Besides Nasi Lemak, there is fresh Seafood ready for grill, Satays and savoury side dishes for those who like it heavy to pair with their plate of steaming fluffy white rice. Fans of finger food would be delighted with the choices of savoury Kuih-muih, Vietnamese Roll, Dim-Sums and Sushi to pick up on their dining plate.
Dining with your children? Engage with Uncle Fishy’s performance of magic tricks with his puppet friend, or have your little ones play at the tent play area provided for the patrons of the Hi-tea.
To conclude my Hi-tea session, I went down the memory lane with my Durian Potong Ice-cream as a “naughty” little indulgence!
