Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) passengers were elated to embark on the Electric Train (ETS) service, which operated for the first time from its Segamat Station, Johor, over the weekend on 15th March 2025.
On the said date, the first ETS train left Segamat Station at 7:55 am and travelled to Padang Besar Station, arriving at 2:57 pm from Butterworth Station.
The inaugural train operation represents yet another significant milestone in KTMB’s endeavours to develop the country’s rail system while offering passengers a secure and enjoyable journey.
Here are 5 things to know about the Segamat Station opening:
1) KTMB is providing a unique promotion to guests who visit Segamat Station, with an RM10 discount on a number of chosen train services, in honour of the extension of the ETS train operation to Segamat.
2) Cardiac Vascular Sentral Kuala Lumpur (CVSKL) will be offering free health tests and will be selling exclusive KTMB Rail Boutique products.
3) The public can purchase tickets in advance to board the ETS service from Segamat Station.
4) The KITS app, KTMB’s official website at www.ktmb.com.my or KTMB kiosk machines are the three ways to purchase tickets.
5) Labis will open its station in April, followed by Kluang in May and Johor Bahru in September.
