DHL Supply Chain has officially launched its Southern Region Hub Phase 1 and broke ground on Phase 2 at the Senai Airport City Free Zone, with a total expenditure of RM100 million.

Johor State Investment, Trade and Consumer Affairs Committee chairman Lee Ting Han said in addition to being DHL’s southern headquarters, this new hub is its first southern area hub in Malaysia.

“Previously, DHL’s manufacturing and supply chain hubs were concentrated in Penang and Selangor, but today, Johor is stepping confidently into the spotlight,” he said in a Facebook post.

According to Lee, the supply hub’s two phases will cost roughly RM100 million in total and span more than 308,000 square feet.

“DHL’s decision to establish its footprint here is both timely and strategic, serving high-impact sectors such as electrical and electronics, life sciences, healthcare, and automotive.

“This facility is a game changer and will create over 200 skilled jobs for locals while making a significant contribution to the logistics ecosystem in the region,” he said.

Lee added that DHL has established its regional control tower in this hub to connect operations across Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.

“This will further strengthen Johor’s position as a key logistics nerve centre for Southeast Asia, reinforcing our role in the evolving ASEAN supply chain network,” he said.

Lee stated that it is anticipated that the facility will improve supply chain capabilities and meet the increasing needs of different southern sectors.

“This development underscores Johor’s emergence as a strategic logistics gateway, leveraging its proximity to Singapore and its growing industrial infrastructure,” he added.
