His Majesty the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar has officiated the Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal which will drive the growth of the tourism sector and the economy of Southeast Johor.

Also present with him was His Royal Highness Tunku Temenggong Johor, Tunku Idris Iskandar Al-Haj Ibni Sultan Ibrahim.

According to Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Johor Menteri Besar’s statement, the ferry terminal, which is equipped with the Immigration, Customs and Quarantine Complex (CIQ), as well as maritime facilities, is Malaysia’s 16th new international gateway.

It will also increase the connectivity of international destinations from Singapore and Batam as well as Bintan Riau Islands Indonesia.

The arrival of international tourists is believed to boost local economic activities which will benefit traders, entrepreneurs and other industry players as well as create more employment opportunities.
