In conjunction with the Deepavali celebration on 20th October 2025, schools across the country will receive two additional holidays.
The Ministry of Education’s academic calendar for the 2025/2026 session shows that school holidays apply to all states except Sarawak.
Schools in Group A (Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu) will observe the additional holidays on 19th October and 21st October 2025.
Schools in Group B, namely Melaka, Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya will observe them on 21st October and 22nd October 2025.
As stated in the circular, all schools are required to adhere to the additional holiday provisions set by the Education Ministry.
In addition to Deepavali, similar additional holidays were also allocated for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
These additional holidays do not need to be replaced.
