Columbia Asia Hospital Iskandar Puteri (CAHIP) successfully held its Breast Cancer Awareness Funwalk 2025 this morning at Sireh Park, Iskandar Puteri, drawing a lively participation of more than 600 participants from the local community.

The 3KM fun walk, held in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, was officiated by Suhaizan bin Kaiat, Member of Parliament for Pulai, who also flagged off the walk.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, CAHIP organised the event in association with the Breast Cancer Support Group Johor Bahru (BCSGJB) and Yayasan Penyayang Iskandar Puteri.

By highlighting the significance of early detection and routine screening, the event sought to increase public awareness of breast cancer. The morning was filled with worthwhile events, such as a Zumba class, a basic health screening conducted by CAHIP, an awareness booth run by BCSGJB, a fundraising sales booth run by CAHIP, food trucks, and an exciting lucky draw.

The event’s proceeds will be given to the Breast Cancer Support Group Johor Bahru (BCSGJB) to help them continue their outreach, education, and emotional support programmes for breast cancer patients and survivors.

In her speech, Dr Ding Eng Li, Chief Executive Officer of Columbia Asia Hospital Iskandar Puteri, expressed her gratitude for the strong turnout and community spirit.

“At Columbia Asia, we believe in serving beyond hospital walls. This fun walk is a reflection of our commitment to community health and our mission to make quality healthcare accessible and approachable to all. Through partnerships and collective effort, we hope to empower more people with knowledge that can save lives,” said Dr Ding.

Suhaizan bin Kaiat, who presided over the event, praised CAHIP for its ongoing work raising community awareness of health issues.

“It is encouraging to see corporate and healthcare partners coming together for such a noble cause. Awareness and knowledge about breast cancer are key in achieving early detection and better outcomes. Today’s event is not just a walk—it is a reminder of the importance of supporting one another in the fight against cancer,” he said.

With smiling faces and a powerful message of empowerment, hope, and unity, the event came to a close. The 2025 Breast Cancer Awareness Funwalk was a great success in uniting the community in a spirit of support, education, and care, demonstrating Columbia Asia’s commitment to enhancing lives via preventive care and health awareness.
