Amidst the nationwide festivities commemorating the 66th National Day on 31st August 2023, Columbia Asia Hospital – Iskandar Puteri (CAH-IP) welcomed a heartwarming bundle of joy as three mothers gave birth to their newborns on this momentous day.
Teo Yi Xuan, 19, a first-time mother and businesswoman from Taman Putri, Kulai, Johor, had anticipated her baby’s arrival on the 30th of August 2023. However, she joyfully welcomed her healthy baby boy, weighing 3.12kg, on Merdeka Day at 11:30 am. Husband Toh Yu Tang, 25, a businessman, expressed his profound happiness and honour, as their son’s birthday will forever coincide with Malaysia’s National Day celebrations.
In a similar vein of celebration, Nur Maizatul Nasyikin Mohamad, 31, a housewife from Bandar Penawar, Johor, embraced the birth of her second child, a baby girl weighing 3.28kg, at 3:15 pm. Admitted to the hospital on the 30th August, Maizatul’s husband, Muhammad Nur Nu’aimuddin Mohiddin, 31, an executive in the oil and gas sector, shared his gratitude and joy for their daughter’s arrival.
Another heartwarming tale came from across borders, as Anam Adil, 30, a housewife, and her husband Adil Muhammad, 32, an electrician from Pakistan, celebrated the birth of their healthy baby girl, weighing 3.10kg. Expressing their heartfelt appreciation for the smooth and safe delivery, the couple extended their gratitude to CAH-IP for ensuring a seamless experience. Having resided in Malaysia since 2012, the couple fell in love with the country and its significance. The arrival of their baby girl on the 31st further deepened their connection to Malaysia.
The deliveries of all three babies transpired seamlessly, free of complications, under the attentive care of Dr Rohaini Md Jonit, Consultant Obstetrics & Gynecologist, Dr Quek Yek Song, Consultant Obstetrics & Gynecologist and Dr. Azhar Napis, Consultant Pediatrician. Assisted by a dedicated team of skilled midwives and nurses, the hospital ensured the well- being of both mothers and newborns.
