Amari Johor Bahru has launched its latest cultural offering, the ‘Trishaw Tales: JB Town Heritage Tour’ room package.

This one-of-a-kind initiative, launched in collaboration with PS Holidays aimed at both tourists and locals, promises an immersive experience in Johor Bahru’s rich heritage and vibrant culture.

Pauline Chua, General Manager of Amari Johor Bahru, and Nur Maziah Ab Razak, Assistant Director of Tourism Johor, conducted the “Trishaw Tales” flag-off ceremony on the 26th of June 2024. Beautifully decorated trishaws lined up at the hotel’s entrance, ready to set off on the first-ever heritage tour.

“The ‘Trishaw Tales: JB Town Heritage Tour’ is more than just a journey through the streets of our city. It is a narrative brought to life, where each turn of the wheel and each corner we pass, reveals a chapter of Johor Bahru’s rich heritage. By offering this package, we aim to provide an authentic and enriching experience that showcases the city’s historical charm and vibrant traditions,” said Pauline.

Following the welcome address, the Assistant Director of Tourism Johor, Nur Maziah Ab Razak, addressed the attendees and emphasised the significance of cultural tourism in the region’s development, applauding Amari Johor Bahru’s efforts in promoting local heritage.

PS Holidays founder, Chua Poh Kok also shared the unique details of the trishaws for the tour, known as ‘Beca Raja’ or King’s Trishaw, for their larger, 48 inch in width, combined with state-of-the art alloy body and 27 gears in its bicycle.

Prominent industry partners, including Tourism Johor, Tourism Malaysia Southern Region, Iskandar Regional Development Authority, and representatives from travel agencies, attended the event.

With the tour offering authorised guide services and plenty of photo opportunities at significant historical sites like Jalan Wong Ah Fook, Raja Maha Mariamman Temple, Johor Ancient Temple, Jalan Dhoby, and Jalan Tan Hiok Nee, each participant was guaranteed an enjoyable and unforgettable experience.

Reservations are now being accepted for the “Trishaw Tales: JB Town Heritage Tour” room package at Amari Johor Bahru.

A guided trishaw tour, a walking tour of historical sites, and opulent hotel accommodations are all included in this special package. Saddled in Johor Bahru’s heritage, visitors can anticipate an unforgettable and culturally-stimulating stay.
