
Driven with the aim to advance innovation and promote cross-border collaboration in animation, games, and creative technology, the ASEAN Digital Content Summit 2025 (ADCS 2025) has taken place at Persada Johor International Convention Centre, Johor Bahru.
Organised by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), this event marks a key moment under Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2025, positioning ASEAN’s creative industries to collaborate and compete on the global stage.
ADCS 2025 was officiated by Dato’ Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Menteri Besar Johor, and Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong, Deputy Minister of Digital Malaysia, reinforcing Malaysia’s commitment to advance ASEAN’s creative ecosystem as part of the region’s wider digital economy agenda.
MDEC in its statement said that an estimated attendance of over 2,000 participants, a showcase of more than 10 country pavilions such as Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Cambodia, Vietnam and 50 visionary speakers, along with over 100 innovative exhibitors, ADCS 2025 brings together industry leaders, innovators, renowned creators, and young talent from across ASEAN.
The summit features high-level forums, business networking opportunities, and showcases of the region’s most promising intellectual properties (IP).
Key Highlights of ADCS 2025 include:
- ASEAN Roundtable on Digital Content Collaboration – A series of dialogue sessions to chart regional growth roadmaps, explore AI-driven innovation and establish common policies across games, animation, creative technology and media.
- Kre8tif! Business Xchange – ASEAN’s flagship B2B platform connecting creators with global broadcasters, distributors and investors.
- Featured speaker, Koji Morimoto – co-founder of Japan’s Studio 4°C and renowned animation visionary.
- Public-facing showcases – Malaysia Animation Film Festival (MAFF) and the Asia Creators Fest (ACF) special pavilion, celebrating regional talent and IP creators.
“The ASEAN region is home to a vibrant pool of talent in animation, game, and digital content. ADCS 2025 allows us to move beyond servicing into creating original intellectual property that can compete globally,” said Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong, Deputy Minister of Digital Malaysia. “This Summit reflects the MADANI government’s commitment towards bridging the gap between markets, accelerating innovation, and ensuring the next generation of creators has the support they need to succeed.”
As part of Malaysia’s initiative to accelerate the digital content industry in the ASEAN region, the country has successfully won the bid to host SIGGRAPH Asia 2026, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious computer graphics conferences.
SIGGRAPH Asia 2026 is expected to bring together more than 3,000 industry professionals from Asia, the US, and Europe for networking, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration, further strengthening the ecosystem and driving the growth of the global digital content industry.
ADCS 2025 is supported by the Johor State Government, along with TM, SME Corp Malaysia, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Asia Creators Fest (ACF), KL Chapter ACM SIGGRAPH, Malaysia Esports Federation and RewardinMe.
