“Our gratitude goes to the Korean Society of Malaysia who has worked tirelessly to fly in some of the special performances from Korea together with Terrain Property, the event sponsor. We wish to engage more with the Koreans here who are one of the largest communities of expats residing in Iskandar Puteri, Johor,” said Wan Ahmad Saifuddin Wan Ahmad Radzi, Managing Director EduCity Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

The event drew the Korean community around the Iskandar Puteri area along with the students surrounding the venue where the crowd enjoyed playing VRinity (Virtual Theme Park at Mall of Medini); virtual reality portable games and the Korean traditional game, ‘Tohu’ where top scorers get special prizes. Foodies enjoyed Korean-cooking demo and Kimchi making while binging on authentic Korean street food like hotteok (Korean pancake). At the outdoor stage, music blared with K-Pop dance performance and Johor’s Zapin dance and poco-poco.  While, indoors; a photobooth was set up offering Korean traditional costume, Hanbok for both male and female.

By evening, the crowd was enthralled by a Korean traditional dance performance by Kim Song Hee and Soo Taekwondo’s choreographed martial arts troupe peppering excitement among the audience. Datuk Ir. Khairil Anwar Ahmad, Chairman of EduCity and President/CEO of Iskandar Investment Berhad attended the evening to greet the Korean community and celebrate their culture. The event closed with performance by Sarah Suhairi, a rising Malaysian celebrity known for her rendition of Korean pop songs.
